About Us

Bargoed Sight Centre is an independent Optician’s Practice established in the heart of Bargoed in 1988.

Since 2021, the practice has been owned and managed by Rebecca Jones and David Taylor, a husband-and-wife team of highly qualified Optometrists. Between them, they hold advanced postgraduate qualifications in Medical Retina, Glaucoma, and Low Vision, ensuring a high level of specialist care for all patients.

Bargoed Sight Centre is proud to provide a welcoming, personalised service and high-quality eye care for patients of all ages. The full range of services includes eye examinations for adults and children, contact lens fittings and aftercare, and specialist support for those with complex vision needs. The practice uses state-of-the-art diagnostic technology, including Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), to detect and manage eye conditions at the earliest possible stage. It also offers emergency eye care services and runs dedicated Low Vision Clinics to support patients with reduced vision.

Rebecca and David work alongside a small team of dedicated and friendly staff, allowing the practice to offer continuity of care — and ensuring that patients are always greeted by a familiar face when they visit.

There is a large free car park behind the practice and a loading bay directly outside the front door for convenient drop-off and pick-up.
